Jessey LaFontaine
Jessey LaFontaine's first interest in gourds inspired in 1999. Influenced by styles such as Hopi art and Native designs as well as her 1/4 iroquois heritage, she started crafting art and showed them in various high end restaurants within Calgary, AB. Making a move, she now resides on Vancouver Island in beautiful British Columbia and has made an impact with her works in various galleries and publications.
All of J.LaFontaine's gourd works are one of a kind, handpainted with leather dyes and decorated with embellishments such as glass beads and nature's harvest. Many gourds are enhanced with Gold or Red leaf, inspired by artist Gustav Klimt.
